Entry #3. Refreshshing

During Spring break, I came back home to visit my family. My parents and I went fishing at Seaside, along the coast in Oregon. After that, we stopped at the gas station, and I asked my mom to buy me some Altoids. We came home, showered, and ate dinner together. Afterward, I went to the gym and brought the Altoids with me and started opening the package.

The Altoids tin makes a distinctive "click" when it is opened, a sound that is both satisfying and nostalgic. The mints themselves rattle around inside the tin, creating a gentle, metallic symphony. The mint is very small and it's like a tablet medicine, feeling very light. When you pop an Altoid into your mouth, the first thing you'll notice is the crisp crunch as you bite down. The rectangular shape of the mint lends itself to this satisfying sensation. As the mint dissolves, it releases its intense flavor. The peppermint oil in Altoids provides that signature punch. The melting process is gradual, allowing you to savor the taste.
